Used Wadkin BER 4 Spindle Moulder with Aigner Fences & Power Feeder

 

A substantial machine, designed and engineered for long life and accuracy. Ease of operation, maximum operator safety and simple maintenance requirements are 'built-in' features. The 4-speed spindle will accept 30 mm, 35 mm or 1¼ in diameter loose top pieces. A slotted, 50 mm diameter spindle is available on request.

 

MAIN FRAME... rigid fabricated steel base with hinged doors providing easy access to the spindle drive and centralized lubrication point.

 

SPINDLE... precision ground, and carried on substantial ball bearings in a dust-proof housing. Rigid locking is provided on all spindle movements.

 

SPINDLE/DRIVE... vee-belt and 4-step pulleys. Speed changes are simple and quick, a single lever releasing and re-tensioning the belt as required.

 

MOTOR... 3-phase, 5.5 kW, totally enclosed, fan cooled. Automatic contactor gear having no-volt and overload release as standard.

 

CONTROLS... mounted on the front panel for easy operation. Motor start/stop push buttons; Spindle brake and lock foot pedals; spindle raise/lower handwheel and locking lever. Interlocks automatically switch off motor when footbrake is operated for maximum safety under normal and emergency conditions. Use of all hand controls is indicated on the panel by a simple diagram.

 

TABLE... precision ground and fitted with four removable rings to provide full work support over a wide range of cutter sizes.

 

Aigner Spindle Fences

The Aigner Integral Fence System addresses one of the most persistent problems on spindle moulders: the unsupported gap in the tool area. An integrated set of adjustable fingers swings across to provide continuous guiding support through the cutter zone, eliminating the open section that conventional fences leave exposed.

The fingers offer micro-adjustment in the vertical plane, ensuring maximum workpiece contact regardless of tool height. Fence faces carry an anodised finish that reduces friction and resists wear over extended production use.
